SERVICES

PSYCHOTHERAPY

I provide outpatient psychotherapy services for the treatment and maintenance of mental health concerns. I work with a variety of conditions such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, eating disorders, substance abuse, gender dysphoria, chronic pain, developmental and acute trauma, relationship problems, and issues related to identity and self-esteem. I utilize a psychodynamic framework which emphasizes and individual, person-centered framework and focuses on resolving mental and emotional conflict, with a focus on freeing up more mental space via talking in order to make room for more in your life. I am trained to listen to both conscious and unconscious dynamics that influence your personality, behavior, and decision-making. I can provide both short-term behavioral-focused therapy and long-term therapy.

PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis is the oldest method of treating mental disturbance. It relies on the technique of “free association” — saying whatever thought, feeling, memory, perception etc. is occurring at each moment. Psychoanalysis is intended to dig deeper than ordinary psychotherapy. The typical model is to meet 3-5x/week and lie down rather than sit upright. This frees up one’s ability to identify unconscious fantasies and feelings that are inhibited by the need to regulate and respond in a more socially conditioned way. The process of psychoanalysis is long-term, but in the process many people feel that they can learn to understand themselves in a rich and nuanced way; for some, this can be a path to permanent characterological change.

psychedelic integration

Psychedelic integration is a form of therapy that focuses on processing experiences during or after a psychedelic trip. Psychedelic medicines are being researched for a variety of therapeutic purposes and there is ongoing debate about how to optimize their use. Many people have difficult, challenging, or destabilizing elements to their psychedelic experiences in addition to startling realizations. Other people find that the realizations they have on a psychedelic can be too fleeting to work into long-term change. I am trained to help people better understand these experiences in a holistic way. Psychedelic integration psychotherapy offers a way to transform fleeting insights into lasting ones that can shape your life for years to come.
